One thing about me, I love taking care of my skin. I am pretty much into skincare more than I am into makeup. Why? Because prepping my skin is crucial to me. It allows for my makeup to go on evenly. One of my major skin concerns are my pores. I have combo to oily skin; my t-zone is the first area where oil tends to build up making my skin very congested in that area. When my skin is congested my pores are more visible and I see texture when I apply my foundation, that is the last thing I want to happen.
Dealing with summer in NYC can be very harmful to your skin. The air is so polluted with dirt, grime and toxins leaving your skin feeling, well…filthy. Especially for us combo to oily skin types, we attract those toxins into our skin mixed with sweat causing congestion. So I live in masks at least 3-4 times a week. Listen, I have to preserve all this sexy for as long as I can lol.
Here are some of my favorite pore masks thats been getting me through Summer (you can tell how much I use them by the appearance of the bottle) at least you know it’s real
Caudalie Instant Detox Mask
This one is a pretty mild and gentle mask. You will literally feel your pores being tightened as the clay goes from white to pink. What’s interesting as it goes from white to pink you will see little dots start to form as the clay dries, letting you know that it’s deeply cleaning. The mask is acting as a vacuum cleaner to pull out the dirt from your pores. It is not as gross as it sounds, it’s kinda nice to see the mask doing its job. I would recommend this to any mask newbies looking to bring life back into your complexion in only 5-10 minutes.
You can purchase this at Sephora and retails for $39
Boscia Charcoal Pore-Pudding Intensive Wash-Off Treatment Mask
I call this one the “multipurpose” mask duo that works wonders for targeted areas. I usually go for this black and white charcoal duo when I want to tackle and treat my t-zone area specifically or all over when my skin is just acting up. I love this pore-refining duo because The black charcoal is going to cleanse your pores and detox the skin while the white charcoal is going to hydrate & moisturize both leaving the skin balance. Also great for spot treatment as well. It’s non-drying and non-irritating for sensitive skin. leave on for 15-20 minutes
Available at Sephora, $38
GlAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment
I listed this one last because it’s a more advanced treatment mask of the other two that is going to heal problematic skin. Yes it’s going help with Acne and pores, but not only that it’s good for razor bumps and in-gown hair so men can really benefit from this. at first, I wasnt buying into the hype of it because when I first used it I didn’t notice a siginifcant difference until I started using it a few more times. Leave on for 20 minutes, during the 20 minutes you will feel it tightening and tingling, where your pores are more prominent that’s where the mask is going to work by sucking out the gunk and you can see little black dots where it’s working the hardest. Your skin overall will look more refined. Totally worth the price.
Available at Sephora, $69
