Hi Loves,

When it comes to finding THE BEST foundation or foundation for that matter for your skin type can be tricky. If somehow by mid-day you’re starting to see shine where your supposedly perfect foundation and setting powder was placed, can be the most frustrating thing EVER. especially after you put in that work to make it all look good.  I always strive for my foundation to look like my skin just prefect with a glow (not sweaty). After wearing a few foundations, I’ve found the ones that are my “die-hard-never-let-me-down-im here-til-the-very-end” foundations.

Before we get into my favorites, I just want to break down some key steps to ensure that your foundation will stay put. For starters, use an oil-free moisturizer that wont clog your pores, healthy skin is hydrated skin girl. The Philosophy take a deep breath oil-free oxygenating gel cream, is a must have for me. Proceed with a matte primer (in T-zone, unless you’re a true oily girl) Becca ever matte poreless primer or Makeup forever step 1 equalizer  are great choices. Apply Foundation.  for the finale, set it all with a setting powder. The most forgettable step, yet so important. The setting powder that I cant live without is the Cover Fx matte setting powder.

Holy Grail foundations!

Lancome Teint Idole ultra 24 hour longwear Foundation ($47), Is My JAM! I tried this for the 1st time a few years ago when I was matched at a Sephora and I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s oil-free and has a medium to full coverage; The formulation is a velvety matte finish. meaning it goes on smooth without seeming dry. The formula covers all your skin imperfections and goes on like butter. It’s that good.

Pro: long wear, transfer-resistant

Con: not the best for dry skin

shade: 510 suede

Makeup forever Face & Body Liquid Foundation ($43), is my all star! a great day to day foundation. It was highly recommended for me to try it, but it was too “liquidy” for my liking. I gave it a try anyway and OH MA GAD! love it! This is a natural-finish that provides sheer coverage and is waterproof, which I prefer for the summer; it looks like a better version of your skin. Apply it in the areas where you need it the most and blend with a brush, remember it’s runny so less is more.

SB: There is a new water-gel version to this. I am looking forward to trying it. Will do a review on it later on.

Pro:waterproof, suited for the body

Con: Too runny

shade: 46

Marc Jacobs Genius Gel super-charged oil-free foundation ($48), is just beautiful, it’s perfection in a bottle. The formulation enhances your skin, leaving it with a subtle glow more like a demi-matte finish that blurs out your pores. I love how light the formulation is, medium coverage that is buildable.

Pro: Blurs out pores

Con: pricey

shade: 84 cocoa medium
