Hi Loves!

So glad you stopped by! It’s that time again, my favorite time of the year, the joy of the holidays. The air is filled with love, laughter, family & lots of food.

If you’re having trouble with what to wear for the holidays, Here is an idea of what you can wear any time during the holiday season. The pleated skirt is the newest trend that’s been going viral on social media and is a key piece in every fashionista’s closet and should be apart of yours too. This is my take on the pleated skirt trend.

Hi Beautiful!

I have been on a rollercoaster ride if I must say with my passion. Some days and even weeks I am all in and super driven, then there are days where I just want to throw in the towel and give up. As of late, I’ve been on the pursuit of getting my passion back.

Losing your passion can derive from many things; for me in particular, is a result of me comparing myself to others. I am now learning that I cannot and should not compare my level one to someone else’s level 10. The moment I let go of the negative self talk, doubt and fear I release the anxiety and pressure to compare.

Hi Loves!

On Friday night I was invited to view the Malcolm Diggs Spring 2017 collection at the Chelsea Tusk. You should be familiar with his name because he’s one of the designers behind the colored girl campaign. Malcolm debut a collection of eclectic styling which consists of bucket hats, sequins, sheer tops and ripped denim.

Hi Loves!

Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone had an amazing weekend. I had a very chill one nothing spectacular, but I always make the best of it.

I am loving who I’m becoming, I truly am loving the work that God is doing in my life. He’s purging some things, people and behaviors that’s not of his like-ness and creating a new thing in me. Never be afraid of his chastisement and never apologize for being you.

Hi Loves!

Happy Hump Day! Guess what? We made it half way through the week, and I feel great! How about you? Can I share something with you? I did a collaboration with Jewelry designer Malyia McNaughton of Made By Maylia for a pilot that’s in the works, fingers crossed. The pilot will focus on Malyias’ Brand and her transition into her modeling career. We shot these photos at the pool in a posh apartment in New Jersey By creative director Tre Thomas and assistant Nas-D. Can I tell you that I cannot stop obsessing over these photos! I’ve had them for some time now and I don’t know why it took me so long to share them with you, I guess I was trying to find the perfect time to post them, but there is really no better time than now.

Hi Loves!

TGIT! It’s almost the weekend. Well sort of, in a few more hours, but I’m still excited because I have the weekend off, *woot woot.*

Over the past month or so I’ve been strengthening my walk with Christ, due to that I’ve been feeling like my best self. After looking into some areas of my life I have a few not so great habits that needs to be broken. After doing some research on how to break them, According to my sources (google) it takes 21 days to break a habit and about 66 days to form better habits. Sixty-six days sounds like a long time, either way I’m up for the challenge

Hi Loves,

When it comes to finding THE BEST foundation or foundation for that matter for your skin type can be tricky. If somehow by mid-day you’re starting to see shine where your supposedly perfect foundation and setting powder was placed, can be the most frustrating thing EVER. especially after you put in that work to make it all look good.  I always strive for my foundation to look like my skin just prefect with a glow (not sweaty). After wearing a few foundations, I’ve found the ones that are my “die-hard-never-let-me-down-im here-til-the-very-end” foundations.

Before we get into my favorites, I just want to break down some key steps to ensure that your foundation will stay put. For starters, use an oil-free moisturizer that wont clog your pores, healthy skin is hydrated skin girl. The Philosophy take a deep breath oil-free oxygenating gel cream, is a must have for me. Proceed with a matte primer (in T-zone, unless you’re a true oily girl) Becca ever matte poreless primer or Makeup forever step 1 equalizer  are great choices. Apply Foundation.  for the finale, set it all with a setting powder. The most forgettable step, yet so important. The setting powder that I cant live without is the Cover Fx matte setting powder.

Holy Grail foundations!

Lancome Teint Idole ultra 24 hour longwear Foundation ($47), Is My JAM! I tried this for the 1st time a few years ago when I was matched at a Sephora and I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s oil-free and has a medium to full coverage; The formulation is a velvety matte finish. meaning it goes on smooth without seeming dry. The formula covers all your skin imperfections and goes on like butter. It’s that good.

Pro: long wear, transfer-resistant

Con: not the best for dry skin

shade: 510 suede

Makeup forever Face & Body Liquid Foundation ($43), is my all star! a great day to day foundation. It was highly recommended for me to try it, but it was too “liquidy” for my liking. I gave it a try anyway and OH MA GAD! love it! This is a natural-finish that provides sheer coverage and is waterproof, which I prefer for the summer; it looks like a better version of your skin. Apply it in the areas where you need it the most and blend with a brush, remember it’s runny so less is more.

SB: There is a new water-gel version to this. I am looking forward to trying it. Will do a review on it later on.

Pro:waterproof, suited for the body

Con: Too runny

shade: 46

Marc Jacobs Genius Gel super-charged oil-free foundation ($48), is just beautiful, it’s perfection in a bottle. The formulation enhances your skin, leaving it with a subtle glow more like a demi-matte finish that blurs out your pores. I love how light the formulation is, medium coverage that is buildable.

Pro: Blurs out pores

Con: pricey

shade: 84 cocoa medium
